NCIS picspam/review 7o24 Rules 51
It was kind of underwhelming, more of a first part to something else than a final. I trust Stern, I hope he'll write the premier, because he certainly placed a lot of stuff in this episode, and it'll better pay off.

Of course she's his daughter.
Cool Gibbs.
"I see you choose your words carefully, Agent Gibbs. That is good. Your life depends on them."
"I don't usually drink scotch."

Yeah, Ziva! Winking! Cute Timmy is cute.
"This can't be happening. It cannot be happening. How could they let you in?"
"I passed the exams. I will officially become a citizen of the United States of America."
"I've never been more disappointed in my government."
"Hey! That is my government now."
"Not till Friday."
"And I expect to see you there, and you, too, McGee."
"Ziva, of course I'm gonna be there. Everyone is gonna be there."

Ahahaha! Poor team, trying to not care about Gibbs. Heee, Vance!
"Even, uh, Gibbs, I bet, once he comes back from his..."
"Let's call it a vacation."
"It is not the first time he has run off on his own."
"Hey, not the first time he's run off to Mexico."
"Certainly not the first time he's gone without telling us anything."
"Nope, nothing new to see here."
"Not a poker player among you. Terrible, terrible bluffs."

"You must be feeling like the redheaded stepchild."
"Now, how would you get that idiom right?"
"Because I'm an American now."

Friendly? With Alejandro?
"You were friendly with Alejandro Rivera when you and Ms. Sciuto were in Mexico, right?"
"Well, in the broadest definition, I suppose."

"But it might be useful to kill everyone you ever met. Starting with your friend Mike. Your former mother-in-law comes next."
"Doing me favors now?"

Ouch. That must have been painful.
Oops.

"Choose your words carefully."
"No threat...against me personally."

"I nearly had her when a private investigator from America came digging into her father's death. She had the PI killed."
That, that was the guy Gibbs's mother in law hired.
Oh, Alejandro.

"I've had this before."

Wow, I can't wait to see how they're going to translate that in French.

Gibbs? What are you playing at? Total lack of reaction from Colby at losing his gun.

Tony is really not happy with Gibbs. Hey, how Franks knew if Gibbs didn't have time to warn him? I mean, if he's not lying.

Oh, sneaky Vance/Tim project. And look at Tony, the second he enter the room, his eyes stay mostly on Tim. Now, it's probably because he's wondering what work he's doing for the director, but still follow his McGee Obsession. Without ignoring the dig to Alejandro. He's even following him with his eyes when McGee leaves the room. And then he notices the secret project. Pay attention to his conversation with Vance. It's like it has a lot of double meaning, important for the next scenes.
"Well, Alejandro called us while you were in the air."
"Your new best buddy?"

OMG Ducky's mind is blank! That's impossible! Hee, worried Palmer try to get it work.
"My God."
"What is it?"
"My mind's a complete blank."
"Has that ever happened before?"
"Well..."
"Ah, perhaps this reminds you of a time when... or... or maybe you were just a lad, and..."
"What is it you're doing, Mr. Palmer?"
"I thought maybe if I teed the ball up properly..."
"I might find the fairway. Yes, that does remind me of..."

I love this phone. Gibbs isn't using his portable.

You know, I realise it was filmed around Sean's son birth, I even suspect his scenes in the airport to be filmed separately from Cote and Michael, but I don't like how McGee is clearly separated from the group. Actually, they're all working separately in this episode, hiding stuff. McGee with Vance, Vance and Gibbs, Gibbs, Gibbs and Abby, Abby and Ducky, Ziva and Tony, Tony and Vance, etc...Doesn't Gibbs have a rule about this? It could be a good time to remember it.
Unless it'll play in season 8, someone making clear that the whole "every man for himself" is why they're in trouble now and they'll work together again.

You can just see the guy assigned to protect Abby entering, for the timeline.

See, I'd like to play with Tony being mean, or Tony being jealous, but I'm too scared the "we don't need McGee to do the McGee stuff" is foreshadowing for bad stuff happening to Tim.
"I will do that McGee thing to make sure it is active."
"Look at us... doing it without him."

Oookay, Vance totally did something with Gibbs' phone. With what he asked from McGee? A bug and a GPS. And now, McGee is suspicious. Seriously, people, share your information! You're a team, work like one!

So it's really Mike's finger. Shot off, so could be during the fusillade and not torture.

"And now you're feeling you backed the wrong man."
"Now... I'm remembering you have some sort of psychological degree."

Ouch, glass cuts! Better that than dead. I honestly expect him to be shot. And then we'll have a scene with a panicked Tony, or Tony doesn't realise Tim is hurt until after Dean's death and then he'll be all worried and stuff.

Hmmm, guys? You were supposed to get him alive? Someone in the CBS forum pointed something some may not like. Maybe Tony didn't try to get Dean alive, with him swearing to make Macy's killer pay. Maybe it was pure vengeance.

Heee, Jimmy's vision of "Free Pissed Off Mike Franks" 's consequences.
"Maybe killed Mike Franks."
"Dead or alive, are his whereabouts still undetermined?"
"I did retrieve .45 caliber slugs from that shootout in Mexico."
"It's Mike Franks' weapon of choice."
"Yeah, I'm gonna go double stack the drawers."

"Never underestimate your opponent." That's Tony's rule N°3. Unless Gibbs also has it with another number. I know it's not the same because McGee started correcting Tony with the correct number 3 rule and Tony stopped him to explain it was DiNozzo's rule in Hiatus.
So Colby complaining about the double crossing wasn't about Gibbs, but Alejandro. And someone not Abby is protecting Gibbs.

Me want more Vance/Gibbs scenes. Maybe add Fornell.

The Marseillaise! Everyone did a little bit of French this season.

Oh, Tim (with visible cuts. Are they real? Is there a reason he's show as 'hurt'?) is curious about Tony. I doubt they'd show this for no reason, but seeing they went nowhere with him noting Macy's disappearing notes with Gibbs's past...unless it's for season 8.

Guess Vance is putting Tony in the confidence.
Wow! She used Special Agent instead of Mister Gibbs. That means she's changing her mind.

Preeeeeeetty people!

Yep, Tony's in mission.

Mallison stopped the report? Okay, Allison. If she's doing an effort, I can too.

Nice acting from Cote with Ziva's expression at being finally American.

Oh, hi Franks! So he's the wounded agent Michael was talking about. Hee, Probie. But you're kind of messing up with his work, there, He's not here to kill Alejandro. I hope. Unless they're really going there with Tony's storyline.

[Insert CSI Joke Here]

[Yeeaaaahhhh!]
He wrote the rules! Ooh, so that's why the guest room is not a guest room anymore. He's using it and let the main one be a memory room. Shannon was really lovely. I miss her everytime they show her when we don't really know her. Good job, I guess.

Wow. Gibbs admitted he could be wrong. Also, just in case, they reminded us the rule n°27 about following someone. Maybe it'll be put in use later by Mike and Tony.

Oh oh. That was the image from the phoof and there's still time...No! Not Jackson! Also, the candies he's taking out? Are the same Alejandro gave to Gibbs, when he said he already had them.
So either he meant he ate some at his father's home and it was a subtle hint from Paloma and her brother that they already came close to Jackson, or Gibbs had the candies another time and that what was in the packet, and somehow they appeared in Stillwater. And that would mean Gibbs is close by. After all, he told him to leave using the not (possibly) bugged phone.
And why Paloma is there? After all, as far she and her brother are concerned, Gibbs is working for them, he passed the test. Because of the report?

So, we're supposed to be worried for Jackson all summer? And maybe Tony?
Status of everyone:
* Jackson: Possibly in danger, possibly a bait. In any case, Paloma has reason to come to him other than the initial threat to use Gibbs.
* Gibbs: Still under the threat of the Reynosa, could be possibly asked to work again for them unless he wants more of his loved one hurt. Depending of what's going on with his father. As for the murder of Pedro, he could have a chance with Allison...
* Allison: ...who could be in trouble if Alejandro add two plus two and remember who was between he and Abby and able to intercept the report.
* Abby: Pauley wondered if Abby could survive the ordeal. Looks like it. The weight of the secret could be a problem but she can share it with Ducky. On the other hand, the Reynosa can blame her for the disappearance of the report and attack her, or attack her to force her to give another copy, or witness.
* Ziva: Completely cut from her old life. Safe unless Eli decide to do something to get his daughter back. Is probably going to have a lot of questions about Gibbs and Tony's absences during her ceremony.
* Tony: In Mexico following a "colleague" they can't prove he's dirty for now. Maybe they want to bring down the whole cartel. May not know the real link with Gibbs. Has Frank's company. Everything depend on if he's been made or not.
* McGee: Got a hint about Macy/Gibbs', Vance/Gibbs', Tony/Vance's manipulation/game/secret actions. Will know Tony's absence has something to do with Vance and may or may not add everything correctly. Unless the writers decide again to let him in the sidelines. It would be strange to put him in front so often this year to simply forget him now, so I hope all the hints are going somewhere. He's also been noticed by Paloma when he gave her his name and himself to protect Abby and the students. She could decide to take his offer now, or simply follow Jackson by him.
* Franks: Lost his finger but determined to get whoever threatened his family. But how did he get everything he needed to know?
If Ducky, Abby and McGee, with Ziva, think of acting as a team, they could reunite their information, and find where is Tony and why. And maybe Vance will let them know what he's got, and maybe Gibbs will join and trust his team to help him.
And if the team think it's simply something to do with drugs, aren't they in more danger? They don't know they can be targeted to hurt Gibbs like they were with Ari, it's not "these people want you because you're cops", it's "these people want you because it'll hurt Gibbs.". Maybe it doesn't make a difference, maybe it does. But they can't take the necessary precautions.
So, a lot of questions. And the end of season 7, which was unexpectedly pretty nice with the McGee/Tony. Hope you liked the reviews, and the picspam, until season 8 :D
