Friendly Help
Tim was surprised it worked. Usually, they tried a little harder. But he guessed right at least on this part, Marshall wasn't dangerous, and certainly not stupid enough to get a lot of federal agents after him.
And Tim had been nice with him. After his fourth stalker and Abby's third stalker, Gibbs insisted on both of them making a background check on any persons they talked to more than 10 minutes.
When Marshall started to ignore his IMs with the words 'not interested, don't like guys in this way', he could have gone to his Boss. It was always fun.
Instead, and he still didn't know how he arrived there, he created a boyfriend, someone very hot, very possessive, someone he loved, and who loved him. It did stop Marshall in his tracks for a while, and they kept playing, contact only happening via computers. That he didn't want to seduce someone already taken was what convinced him to not involve Gibbs.
Of course, Marshall's brain's filter stopped working, and he started remembering the part about McGee being straight, and wondering which part was a lie.
When Tim saw him in the NCIS this day, he had what he thought was a stupid idea. After all, it only works in the movies, right? His brain probably made the connections. He wasn't even surprised to find his feet bringing him to Tony stealing chocolate while talking to Palmer. If his brain wanted to create problems, it could as well go all the way.
For a brief moment, he thought asking Palmer to play the role of the boyfriend. His brain treacherously told him he wouldn't be convincing enough to deter Marshall.
Right now, he couldn't remember the explication he gave to Tony. If his confused face was any indication, Tony didn't understand it anyway. He saw Marshall approach from the corner of the eye and just said to Tony "I'm giving you months of new 'bantering' material, just go with it, please!" while giving him his best puppy eyes.
100% of success with Abby, they only work at 65% with Tony, so he didn't let him answer, just grabbed his collar and kissed him. Maybe it's was 70% today, for Tony kissed him back, pulled McGee against him.
They parted at the cough of Palmer to see Marshall watching them, a little hurt. Tony kept an arm around Tim, pulling him a little closer.
"So it's him." Marshall said.
"And you are?" Tony asked with a friendly smile. The fake one.
Marshall smiled back, carefully. "I'm a friend of Timothy, we play on the internet at..."
"Oh yeah, you," Tony cut him. "I heard about you." His face hardly changes, and still, Tony's smile just got more threatening. He lowered his hand to McGee's hip, holding him more possessively. Tim absolutely didn't snuggle. The way Tony was holding him, he didn't have any other choice than be closer to him.
Marshall received the message and left. Tim thanked Tony half-heartedly. Tony's eyes and grin promised months and months of teasing, so the pat to his ass wasn't surprising. He sighed and left for Abby's lab, definitively not touching his lips, assuredly not reliving the kiss, and certainly not smiling stupidly, hidden in the lift.
