NCIS 7x06 Outlaws and Inlaws.
Picspam review of the episode!
Ooh, Gibbs's boat!
Sleeping Ziva. Resist, Tony! She's not McGee in his first days!
Ah, she got some ninja powers back. Or she simply heard them (by the way, they came together again?). They weren't really murmuring.
"You do realize this is a trap? She's practically inviting us to mess with her."
"Well, what kind of a man would I be if I turned down such an enticing invitation?"
"Well, you wouldn't be a sucker."

"Touch me and die."
"Good, you're awake. Sleeping on the job isn't going to help you shed that "probie" tag."
"I have been on the job since 1:00 in the morning when Gibbs called me in to cover."
And who Tony looks to share the fun of Ziva dragged out of the bed at 1AM?

Heee, hazing.

She's going to be American? I know it's necessary for the job, but it must be hard to cut all link with her country. And it's one of the problems I have with the Ziva bashers. Some of their complains make senses, but not this one. Like she said "he was my brother, and you were nothing.". Yeah, she spent 4 years in the USA, and she has friends there. But it doesn't compete against her country, the world she knew all her life, the people, the Mossad, her own father!
Not a random boss, it's the guy who hold her when she was little. No one told her (and they shouldn't have) to chose one or the other, it's not fair, and yeah, asking this choice of Gibbs was the same level of unfair. Except he could have her on another team. But you don't ask her to choose something recent over her entire life, one she found again when Vance sent her to Israel.
Of course she tried to keep the two. Why shouldn't she? Why it was supposed to be easy? USA is better? She had no reason to give up her old life until the all Damocles thing, and it's not going to be easy. You don't cut you roots like that.
Another thing that's worries me, and maybe it's simply paranoia, but a softer Ziva, nicer, less violent, less Israeli, without her Star of David (I think, maybe I missed it, but I don't think she's wearing another one). I hope her desire to not lose it then, and not replacing now has something to do with her dad and the Mossad and not her religion. Like, he gave it to her when she was a kid, or it was her mother's, or something sentimentally important.
If she gives it up for Christianity... I could understand a loss of faith over everything happening to her, but I read a little spoiler accidentally that I'm probably over thinking, but it's worrying me. (No, the spoiler didn't say anything about religion, her or someone else.)
Again, it's probably paranoia, but I'm scared they make her less 'foreigner', and more the nice 'normal' girl you'll let your son marry.
Anyway, back to the episode.
Oh Tony. Characters have to have bad sides to make them 3D, but this phrase sucks. If it was supposed to be a joke, Michael Weartherly didn't play it like that.
"It's in there, and it talks about dangerous foreign aliens stealing our precious bodily fluids."
"That's Dr. Strangelove."
"Well, yes, but it's also, I think, the 16th amendment."

McGee catches his movie's reference. And to say it was the guy who didn't know Gary Cooper. Someone is having an influence, but it was evident in season 6 when Tony invited him for a week-end in his villa.
"We'll be lucky to have you, Ziva. The more the merrier."
McGee is nicer! Or he wants someone to share the place as Tony's favourite target.

"Well, let's see, I'm a white male between the ages Of 18 and 49 with a loud mouth and a gun. I am the American dream."
(phone rings)
"Oh, thank god."

I like Cortez.
"You usually light the thing on fire for a Viking funeral. You know any Vikings who live in Mexico?"
"This does have more of a Wild West feel to it."
Mexico = Franks. I like how Vance and Ducky are not subtle at all. And how Ducky really look like someone who left his bed hastily.

Oh Abby. ♥ ♥ ♥ !!!! She wants to discover the secret of the boat out of the basement.

They're holding hands! Almost.

Just to appreciate the proximity between Tony and McGee :D.
"It is all mine...So I can figure out the mystery."
"What mystery--Who the dead guys were?"
"Or who killed them?"
"Or how they ended up on the boat?"
"Sure, you guys should work on that while I figure out how he got it out of the basement."

Vance will let him play it his way, until a point.
"No, your guess is as good as mine, Leon."
"For some reason, I doubt that's true, But I'm gonna give you some leeway on this, Gibbs, since it is your friend, your boat, your mess. My patience will evaporate quickly if another body shows up before Franks does."

Ducky like the cow boy side of Gibbs :) But not Franks.
"I'm afraid you've jumped the gun.
"That's an interesting choice of words, Duck."
"How positively Freudian of me."
"Well, I was going to say "deliberate"
"Got something against cowboys, Duck?"
"Although I've always been Fond of the way that element manifests itself in you, Jethro,"

"I assure you I am using the utmost care processing your beautiful craftsmanship. It's a craftsman's ship."
Hum, pun!
"On the rail and the deck that suggest they were at least slid. "slidden"? Ducky said that they
had been "slud"" If Ducky said they "slad" them..."
My dictionary said slid.

Take it apart? Aww no!

Wow! Nice look of love from McGee. It's not even subtle, with a pinch of endearing. It's "You're crazy, in a cute and lovable way."
"Now, why would two bad guys go after Mike Franks?"
"Well, clearly, they don't know him very well."
"Interesting theory, McGee."
"I meant that more as a joke."
"Some of the greatest ideas in history started out as jokes. I mean, look, you got your mood ring, pet rock, spork."
General your, or McGee has a mood ring?

Hey, did I ever say my theory about McGee and bisexuality and painful past with ex boyfriend? Probably in my ninja bunny posts. In short, I think he's bi and he knows it because he always denied being gay, but only gave a look and/or stay silent when asked about bi. And we know how 'good' he is at lying. He knows it too, and it's the safer way. But he doesn't pay attention to men, or try a relationship with them because the first and only story he had ended badly or his fear of nuns come from that, got an earful against the ev0l of gay cooties, or it's the military environment.
Anyways, if he doesn't completely deny this part of him, he buried it quite profoundly, enough to not see or react to Tony's hotness at the beginning. Plus, he fell for Abby first, and when they broke up, the Tony/Tim dynamism was set, and no matter what the movies said, the level 1 or 2 on the 1-10 ladder of bullying is not a turn on. And it's Womanizer Tony.
I feel like if the constant exposition to the said hotness slowly unburied the feeling, getting it to close to the air in season 6 with the Claire thing, and Tony's worry at the end of Caged (he looked at him rather contemplatively when Tony asked if he was okay), and the smile instead of a WTF reaction when Tony blow on his ear, and all that. And this season, whatever happened during the summer, it's completely off, and he's now perfectly conscious that Tony is hot, and he likes it, and he plays with him and flirts. And so, look of love.
All this is of course only a theory of tinhatery, usual disclaimer applies.
(Just realised, after Ziva left, not only Tony and McGee were alone to work, and deal with Gibbs and Abby's angst and cie, McGee was alone to deal with Tony's possible angst, and alone to do a lot of field work, because Tony's arm was broken. No wonder he's so confident now, he was a real pillar for the team during the summer.)
Tony, are you trying to get rid of Ziva? Or it's some kind of reverse psychology, to make her think about the big change it's representing and be sure she really wants it?
"Just like Annie sang."
"The comic strip? Little Orphan Annie. Curly red hair, no eyeballs. Adopted by Daddy Warbucks."
"And that's the American dream right there. Little Orphan Annie. And me. Isn't there an essay section on this citizenship exam? You should be writing this stuff down. It's good."
"Oh. Shame. My pencil broke."
Love how she looks at McGee, waiting for the explanation.

You know, it'll be easier to let go the slash goggle if Tony didn't just preface his theory with "McGee gave me the idea.". Don't give up Tony, he's getting there.
"Oh, hey, Boss, we've been researching the dead guys. McGee had an interesting idea."
"Uh, what was that exactly? Because you just started talking a bunch of nonsense and never actually said what you were thinking."
"What I was thinking, Boss, is maybe they didn't know Franks... At all."

OMG this kid is so cute!!! He let Franks coming at his house? Vance's making sure it's not watched? Because someone will think about a contact between the two.

"You going to stand there glaring at me, probie, or you going to give me a hand with the bags? Or you going to shoot me?"
"No, I thought I'd ask you a few questions first. Then, I may shoot you."

Oh great, he doesn't know either. No smoking in Gibbs's house. I approve.
Is that Terminator/Summers/Not Mulder?

"You telling me we can't find a fugitive on the run With an Iraqi woman and a child?"
"No. I'm saying we've kept our attention on the dead men."
"And now you want to drag in Colonel Merton Bell."
"And that's not all right with you."
"No."
Vance is so not fooled. I love his expressions!

Too blunt, Gibbs, not your game.
"Your approach lacks finesse."
"Finesse."
"You could show him the same courtesy I showed you when this case began."
"You mean rub his nose in it?"

"If I were Bell, that might make me nervous. Hell, if I were me, that might make me nervous."
"Mike Franks and his family are at my house."
"And you were about to send your agents Over there to keep an eye on them."
"Sure-- while I find a more delicate way to approach Colonel Bell. That be anything you want to help me with, maybe?"
"It's like we were reading each other's minds"

I really like Gibbs and Vance relationship.
Heeeeee! Franks vs Tony!
"Should have told me you were coming."
"I called, and you didn't pick up."
"Not going to answer the phone--I'm a fugitive."
"So, what do you want me to do?"
"Knock."
"Why would I knock? There's no lock on that door."
"Someone may be on the other side with a gun."
"Why would somebody be standing on the other side with a gun?"
"Because there's no lock on the door."

Mint?

"Why don't you put something in front of the door."
"No, I'll just stand here with my gun. That guy."

(If it's really Doggets, he badly aged.) Surprise Gibbs!

Contract? Oops. It was Leyla's family.
...But wait, I thought the danger from her family was why Liam smuggled her out of Irak?
Exactly! Mike agrees with me! Self defence? Even the three more shots to be sure?

Oh the look of McGee at the destruction of the boat. Archaeologist!
"But I'm trying to do it like an archaeologist. I'm keeping careful notes of where everything came from, and I'm sure I can put it back together again when I'm done."
"You're using a chainsaw!"
"Well, it's not like there was a zipper, McGee."

15 min just to pass the security. In his shoe!
"The guy keeps a gun everywhere. Took us 15 minutes to get through security."
"Franks was smuggling a piece? Was it a .22?"
"No. It was a saw blade curled In the hollowed-out heel of his boot."

"But if it is a piece of a .22 in a .45, then..."
"You broke up there. What are you saying? I can't hear you, McGee. I'm in the basement."
He's simply not talking, Tony, don't worry, he's still there.

Abby prefer looking for the solution of the boat mystery, and Tony too. Abby, you already found the answer. Gibbs is magic, therefore, he used a portkey.

I want the little bear.

Oooh, Hogan's Heroes!
"Actually, I think Colonel Hogan has got a radio in the coffee pot, but the tunnel might have been filled in."
"Was that a ding?"

Deliberate or not, the light around Tony's head like a halo?
Ohoh.

"I can tell you all of this."
Mike is such a child, sometimes.
"Gibbs' desk."
"Oh, hi. It's Ducky."
"Ducky for you."

It looks like an intervention. LOL! It is an intervention!!

"He's lying to us."
"It's insulting enough when people that we don't know try this stuff."
"But a colleague, I mean, a supposed friend--It's... Well, it's-it's simply a betrayal.."
I can hear the Ziva bashers from here.

I try to catch the move Pauley made there, but it was difficult. Was a nice move, though.

And the lie is that Mike is innocent. Meaning he's protecting someone, so I'll bet on his daughter-in-law. Unless the kid has a real gift.
"A sergeant and his best friend took his little boy duck-hunting for the first time."
"Geese. They were chasing wild geese."
"Yeah. I know, Mike. You made that joke a few times."
"You laughed each time."
"Well, I had to, I worked for you then."
At least, McGee always found Tony's jokes funny. Or stupid, but he said it.

Grandma is on her way. Hi McGee.

"What is she doing here?"
"Oh, just taking a hands-on approach with her daughter. Her first attempt lacked in finesse."
*snort*

"You lied to us?" Oh Vance! Awesome face!

I don't think it's such a good idea.

And his son died because of it. Deal.
"Hell, I never even heard them coming."
"Your... Defenses were down?"
"I was playing with my granddaughter!"
She's not…this look downward, she didn't imply that he was…no, she didn't. Did she?
"My Leyla? My meek, quiet, little girl?"
"Unloaded six shots rapid-fire from a .22 huntin' rifle. Five hits."
"She knows to shoot?"
"I taught her. Never underestimate a mama bear when her cub's in danger."
"That I believe."

There is a sitcom idea with Mike, Grandma and wacky adventures.

Damon? I don't know him. But he's smart, I like him. Oooh yeah!! He's the guy who gave us drugged Tony, finger are fingy, and McGiggle.

"Keep in mind, I got a big arsenal behind me."
"I wouldn't worry, your suit covers it up very nicely. Sorry, I'm a little wacky, 'cause of the flash-bang your boys threw at us."
Look Gibbs's smile at Tony's jokes!

Federales?
"Good advice. Should also tell 'em to get a haircut."

I hope Damon comes back. But not for a love triangle.

Tim's look of love and then ENTIRELY unmacho flounce off made my entire episode. I have nothing but sparkly hearts for them.
Also, I really like what you said about Ziva. This is SUCH a big deal for her, she's effectively giving up everything including her self to (hopefully) gain everything. So scary. I also hope they don't soften her too much. I like that she's had to become more understanding/empathetic, but she's still Ziva and if they make her any less kickass and awesome I will not be happy.

Super Ziva must stay. And have Super babies with Super Damon. They would be a kick ass family!

It's me or the TPTB love the mcgee/tony slash a lot ? lol !!!!
Love the interaction between Vance and Gibbs (it's like a smartass or badass reunion in a good sort of way)
Totally in love with Mike family, even the old lady.
thanks a lot to share.

What episode is it when Tony invites him to his villa?
I love Mike in this episode, and that part with the door and the lock and the gun: brilliant.

"Uncle Clive's primary residence is this manor house that's just outside of Henley on Thames. You have to come and visit sometime. In the summer, they have these...annual regattas. It's absolutely smashing."
It totally was an invitation for a romantic week-end :D

Good catch on the light/halo over Tony's head. Pretty.
Ziva's hair is really, really pretty clipped back like it is in that one scene.
Thanks! :-)

McGee and Tony being unnecessarily close to one another!
Pure physical attraction. Why do they bother resisting?

Awesomely pretty.
I'm so jealous.no subject
I'm super jealous too. I'm genuinely going to take one of those caps to my hairdresser.
And my plastic surgeon.;-)no subject

Thank you - I now also have Tim's hands, and Tony's surprisingly narrow shoulders to stare at!

Just one thing I'd like to talk about: Again, it's probably paranoia, but I'm scared they make her less 'foreigner', and more the nice 'normal' girl you'll let your son marry.
I definitely agree, and I hope that they don't go that way. But I truly doubt that they would do such a thing; Israel will always be a part of Ziva, for the rest of her life. They're trying to show that she isn't holding back anymore, and that she wants to put down her roots at last.
Loved the picspam, as usual. McGee is looking lovelier than ever. (Adore the bisexual theory BTW. It is so him.) *lick* Also loved the hand holding, and DAMON! *happy dances*

I hope it's just her settling down.
McGee is hotter and hotter. No wonder Tony has more difficulties than usual to resist.
