Why people think he's using Avada Kedavra?

He's a teen. He won't use illegal curse for flies. The logic say he's using something like Petrificus Totalus, or a Stupefy.

Well, iirc from my reread of GoF and OotP, that the unforgivables are only considered unforgivable if used on another human being. I don't think its illegal to use Avada Kedavra on flies. But I could be wrong.
