schtroumph_c: (Supin by oppositeworld.)
So, the Prank. I again see somewhere someone who asked why Snape couldn't accept that Remus and James were innocents (in this case), or why he didn't thanks James.

Am I the only one who think it's logic ? Maybe not 20 years later, but knowing Snape...

The point is, that until the prank, Sirius and James always acted together (in Snape's POV). They always helped each other, I have some difficulty to imagine one letting the other fight alone.

Remus didn't always take part in, but he didn't stop them. I suppose he joined the three other (must not forget Peter) when Snape was the attacker.

It's (kinda) clear when you change the actors.

Take Crabbe, Goyle, Draco and Harry.

Goyle acts strangely regularly (because every 25 of the month, he turns into a giant flesh-eating slug).

The trio wonders why (evidently, they doesn't know about the slug thing).

Crabbe, seeing a opportunity to please Draco, has a brief flash of intelligence and and manage to drop a clue to Harry.

Harry, in his usual curiosity, want to verify the info. For plot reason, he goes alone, or Ron and Hermione are elsewhere.

When he's before the danger, he's saved by Draco (who was bitted by a slash bunny, making lose his mind and want to see Harry alive).

Do you think Harry would thank Draco?

Then, Draco explain that it was Crabbe's idea, he has absolutely nothing to do with it.

Would Harry believe him? Why?

Draco is always the boss of Crabbe and Goyle, and he hates Harry, why Harry should think that this time, he's not in?

By his past experiences, Snape has no reason to believe James. For the same reason that if Harry should be poisoned, Snape would be the first suspect. Even if Blaise was seen with the principal ingredient.

Hmmm, a evil Hufflepuff could make so many damages to Gryffindor and Slytherin, and be hidden by the usual vendetta between the two houses.

Seriously, if a Gryffindor was wounded, the suspicions would be on Slytherin, adn vice-versa. A superbe opportunity for a Future-DE-Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw.

See how I subtly changed the subject?

Look at me doing it again.

If Draco discovered that Ron is a werewolf, the Daily Prophet will know it at once. Even if Dumbledore asked him to keep the secret.

So why Snape stay silent for 20 years? Why he didn't talk to everyone the morning after the PranK?
