Almost canon

So, I'm reading a SGA book, Halcyon, by James Swallow.

I'm only into the second chapter, so I don't know if there are many mcshep moments in the kind Reliquary gave us. But, there is something I could see in a fic, and would love to see in the show.

Also, Rodney calls him John in the first chapter. The scene is behind the cut, in case someone doesn't want to be spoiled, or something. Hoping the John thing is not a spoiler.
